Mirage Anti-Bot for windows is a small tool designed to block URLs infected with malware related to ZeuS, SpyEye and Palevo botnets. The application relies on a blacklist of dangerous links gathered from www.abuse.ch lists for information retrieval before altering HOSTS file contents accordingly – its main advantages being minimal use of hardware resources (displaying icon in notification area) and trouble-free operation.
Due to its user-friendly interface, setting up the program is uncomplicated. Once launched, its definition database needs updating with malicious addresses automatically monitored and blocked based on rules created in its definition database – simply choose “Update.” Additionally, all information about Mirage Anti-Bot Engine’s operations can be found within “Probe Logs”, while there’s even an inbuilt filter editor so users can track records or create lists of restricted hosts for monitoring purposes.
This tool comes equipped with several additional configuration options to suit every need and user. These options allow for simple updates of Windows Autostart settings, appearance changes of progress bars, notifications enabled/disabled for system trays or proxy server connections and proxy server use. An essential aspect of the application is also password protecting access to settings to protect against unwanted access attempts.
