Autorun Detector free for pc program designed to protect operating systems against malware that spreads using Autorun (the automatic launch of executable files from removable media). This handy little application quickly and reliably eliminates threats using this attack vector.
At first, the Autorun Detector interface may seem intimidatingly complex; however, as time progresses we will become adept at its use. The application operates two modes. First is clearing media of autostart files – to do this we must select all drives of interest (“Detect/Select window), select them one at a time (“Detect/Select window), and finally press on “Clear Now” button. Second approach involves an interactive user experience: we may click through various screens before pressing Clean Now or Interactive Now buttons respectively.
The tool will be minimized to the system tray and, should any prohibited events take place, we will receive an alert message with more specific information recorded in its log file. Furthermore, additional configuration options allow us to enable/disable icon animation, change storage folder for log storage purposes, or add this application as an autostart application on Windows computers.
Autorun Detector for windows is released as freeware under an Open Software license and works in Portable mode – simply unpack its ZIP archive anywhere on your hard disk or external storage media, unzip its content there, then run its executable file to use this tool.
