Earthquake 3D is a no-cost and exciting application that seeks to track the latest earthquakes across the globe and alert users about the latest earthquakes. The interface of the program consists of two windows which are the settings and the world preview window that displays earthquakes according to the parameters that are selected next to them.
In the settings screen In the settings window, we can initially select the minimum level of strength of earthquakes that will be displayed (on the 10-point Richter scale) as well as their age,
The app monitors Earth’s seismological activity for up to the week that passed. You can also choose the indicators that the tremors are displayed in the animated globe. These are simple rings that extend from the epicenter, aswell with arrows and spheres. Each indicator shows the magnitude of the earthquake in default, but it is possible to switch it off.
If we’re not happy with the mesh-like appearance of the planet’s view you can also overlay it with a pattern reflecting the views from the Earth from space. We can also automatically define the boundaries of islands and countries on the surface as well to mark lakes and rivers. If we wish to make the entire look to be real, then we could also indicate the time of the day on the planet. The northern hemisphere, where night is the norm is covered by shadow.
The globe view of the program free of charge by zooming in, zooming out, and turning it. A skilled mouse operation will cause the animated Earth turn – and we’ll be transported to Copernicus for a brief moment. On the program level we can also access the USGS website (an American scientific and research agency that is responsible for and, in addition, observing seismic activity around the globe) and from there the data can be downloaded. The information about earthquakes is automatically downloaded, but we can also modify it by clicking”NOW “NOW” button.
Earthquake 3D is an amazing tool for seismologists who are not experts and anyone else who wishes to understand the earth’s seismic activity.
