Elective is a no-cost set of educational tools that help you learn the basics of electrical understanding. It is a great tool for students in both high and middle school students as well as physics teachers who are looking for easy teaching tools.
Apart from the capability to evaluate individual physical law, this software provides a variety of information on the functioning and properties of the system being studied (description of the history, unit helpful formulas). A schematic diagram that includes the data is also provided in each of the modules.
Educational tools available:
Ohm’s Law:
Determines voltage on the basis of certain parameters (current and the resistance in the resistance).
Kirchoff’s first law:
Checking the changes in a circuit by finding the characteristics of current sources and resistance.
Kirchoff’s Second Law:
An equivalent tool to check the system’s performance with a set of values for the voltage U1/U2, the resistance R1/R2 and the resistance of the auxiliary resistor, R3.
Power measurement:
Following the determination of the electromotive force and resistance, as well as phase shift the power is determined.
Charger charging:
The tool shows the capacitor charging process based on specific variables (charging time and voltage, resistance, capacity). The program creates an graph of the changes over time, as well as the table of test results which can be saved to your hard drive in text files and/or CSV format.
RC circuits:
The module lets you examine and simulate the speed of voltage changes in time in a capacitor to simulate an AC circuit. Like the previous model, you have to input information and then after a few minutes you’ll receive data and graphs.
The program is accessible at no cost for non-commercial usage (freeware licence). The program is very user-friendly interface in Polish and configuration of each module is as simple as choosing the right slider position.
