Losing one’s computer to theft can be devastating to its owner; not just due to its material value but especially because of all the important information it stores – be it vacation photos, master’s thesis data or company secrets that resides therein – we would rather keep that data than lose it forever – this situation would seem disastrous… were it not for IPFetcher.

IPFetcher free for pc is a small application designed to assist us in physically finding lost or stolen computers (particularly mobile ones, although any potential exists). Once configured properly, when we set our scheduled task or the system starts up the program sends us directly to their FTP address or email address and provides information revealing where exactly to look for our computer based upon their IP number which in itself reveals where exactly to search. In other words knowing its IP number reveals exactly where and when we should look.

IPFetcher download for mac does not feature many settings. While we can configure an FTP or email address where notifications will come, when used with FTP servers the user also provides their address, username and password as well as selecting where files should be saved in their FTP account folders. However, to activate our email settings we will require both username and password credentials as well as specifying sender, recipient and the correct SMTP server and port (check it using an e-mail client or website service provider), though both options can be activated simultaneously – although IPFetcher also enables log creation from individual events.
