Shiela USB Shield for mac is an easily installed program which prevents malware from USB flash drives (pen drives, memory card readers or portable drives) automatically installing onto our computers. It does this by blocking autorun.inf file and all associated executables. Although Shiela USB Shield itself does not serve as an antivirus scanner, its settings allow us to indicate our preferred app so it will check all files stored on a flash drive before we gain access to them for complete safety.
Since program operation is mostly automatic and does not necessitate user intervention, preferences can provide some interesting details of application’s operation that might make for interesting personalization options. First and foremost is the option to enable autostart for all programs – this feature is enabled by default and should be activated whenever possible (it would certainly save time if activated manually!). So when using our computer daily, we no longer need to remember manually launching the program prior to connecting our pen drive as this application will launch itself automatically when logging onto the system. A key parameter here is setting a maximum size per single scan file which currently stands at 10MB – an amount which cannot exceed this maximum value for protection of sensitive files from being damaged during scanning processes.
Shiela USB Shield for windows 10 is the fact that within the settings, we can also specify where we would like the Log file (where all actions taken by the program will be recorded). Furthermore, one may manually choose an action which should take place when threats are identified as well as create a list of exceptions for specific threats or categories of threats.
